Yong Junhyung Personally Addresses Rumors of His Involvement in Group Chat with Illegal Camera Footage

Hello, I’m Yong Junhyung.

Back then, I was certainly foolish and made mistakes. I couldn’t correct the wrong situation, and in the midst of heated criticism without knowing what the right decision was, I was afraid and didn’t want to cause harm to the company or the members because of me, so I made the decision to leave the group with the determination to lose everything from the place that was everything to me for years.

I clicked on the video showing a black screen that was sent through a personal chat without any description, and before I clicked on it, I had no way of knowing what it was or what the intent was. After this, I could have said, “Stop, this is wrong,” but I couldn’t become the person who can say this, and I just ignored it.

However, as I explained back then and appealed even later, I never joined that group chat room nor was I involved in the incident where despicable things happened that I don’t even want to talk about.

For years, many media outlets and individuals have repeatedly labeled me as one of the figures involved in that incident, claiming that I was a member of the chat room and that I consumed illegal images. I talked about the parts that weren’t true, but with everyone and in every article I became the same type of person as those people I have nothing to do with.

I wasn’t confident enough to bring up past events again and just thinking “It will pass”, I spent some time ignoring [la situación] without mustering the courage.

Even if I get hurt or scarred, I will endure it and get through it. Please… I sincerely ask that my family and the people I love and appreciate, as well as those who look up to me despite my flaws, including fans, are not hurt.

To all of you, and to many journalists, I will strive every day to reflect deeply on the aspects that I could not correct in the past and the foolish actions and comments to become a mature person.
