Another Boeing plane disrupted passengers’ flying experience after a Delta Airlines flight departing John F. Kennedy International Airport in New York City was forced to make an emergency return to the airport.

Flight had to return to JFK airport after emergency slide collapsed. The plane in question was a Boeing 767 and authorities are still searching for the crash.

Boeing 767 slide failed

“After the plane landed safely and proceeded to a gate, it was observed that the emergency slide had separated from the plane.”a Delta spokesperson said in a statement to NPR.

Meanwhile, the Federal Aviation Administration issued a separate statement making it clear that Delta Flight 520 “He returned safely to John F. Kennedy International Airport in New York around 8:35 a.m. (local time) on Friday, April 26, after the crew reported a vibration. The FAA will investigate”.

The Delta spokesperson also emphasized that the airline “fully supports the recovery efforts and will fully cooperate with the investigations.”

The plane circled the tri-state area and returned to JFK

In a separate statement, the airline authority noted that the flight crew had observed an “indication on the flight deck related to the sliding of the right wing emergency exit, as well as a sound near the right wing.”

The Boeing 767-300 was acquired by Delta airlines in 1990.. In Friday’s incident, the plane was headed to Los Angeles International Airport, but had to return to JFK about an hour into the flight.

One of the passengers on board told NPR that a loud sound was heard coming from the scene that made it difficult to even hear the announcement.

According to the satellite image shared by FlightAware, the plane flew over the tri-state area before returning to JFK.

It is important to note that an aircraft is usually operational for an average of 30 years before being decommissioned.. However, the plane involved in Friday’s incident was 34 years old. According to the FAA, its expiration date was previously set in May 2028.

“We will forward comments to Delta,” a Boeing spokesperson said. In June of last year, the same flight was forced to make an emergency landing in Utah due to technical difficulties on board.
