Regarding the celebration of Valdés’ 92nd birthday this Sunday, Díaz-Canel sent him a big hug and expressed his appreciation and admiration for the distinguished revolutionary fighter.

The president of Cuba, Miguel Díaz-Canel, highlighted this Sunday the career of the Commander of the Revolution and vice prime minister Ramiro Valdés, whom he described as a guerrilla of all time.

In celebration of Valdés’ 92nd birthday, the president sent him a big hug and expressed his appreciation and admiration, through a message on the social network X.

Díaz-Canel highlighted on the platform that the Commander is a thorough revolutionary and an example for everyone.

For his part, the Prime Minister of Cuba, Manuel Marrero, also congratulated the Commander of the Revolution and Vice Prime Minister Ramiro Valdés on the occasion of his 92nd birthday.

On social network X, Marrero thanked Valdés for his teachings, his example, dedication and commitment to the Homeland. “He receives a hug with great affection on behalf of our people and Government,” he wrote on the platform.

Ramiro Valdés was born on April 28, 1932 in the city of Artemisa, west of Havana, and from a very young age he was linked to the revolutionary movement.

After the triumph of January 1, 1959, he assumed the positions of Minister of the Interior on two occasions, head of Information Technology and Communications; as well as vice president of the Council of State and member of the Political Bureau of the Communist Party of Cuba.

Since 2019, he has served as deputy prime minister of the Republic.
