A woman and her partner, belonging to the federal police, were seriously injured after shooting with criminals that they tried to steal the motorcycle they were riding on in the Buenos Aires town of General Rodríguez. The woman was shot in the head and taken to a local hospital. He died as a result of the wound received.

The incident occurred around 4:30 p.m. this Sunday at kilometer 49.5 of the West Access hand to province, at the height of the aforementioned town in the west of Greater Buenos Aires.

According to police sources, the officer belonging to the Federal Police and his girlfriend were on their white Honda Tornado motorcycle when they were approached by two armed robbers, who also rode a motorcycle.

At that moment, the shooting began when the agent – who was off duty – identified as a member of the force and pulled out his gun. As a result of the confrontation, sub-inspector Nicolás Buena (30) was shot in the chest; while his partner, Noelia Velázquez Torres (27), was hit in the back of the head.

Both were immediately transferred to the Vicente López y Planes de General Rodríguez Hospital, where Velázquez arrived brain dead and died a few minutes later, while Buena was admitted in a reserved condition.

One of the criminals, identified as Pedro Santiago Verón, was also injured. After the attack, he arrived at the UPA 15 Hospital in the same town. accompanied by his mother.

According to his story, He lied saying that he had been the victim of a motorcycle theft in the town of Moreno, without providing more details. He had a gunshot wound to his left leg, but he was conscious and stable, so they requested that he be referred to the UPA doctors.

Police officers arrived at the scene and identified Verón as one of the alleged perpetrators of the confrontation and were left in their custody They were transferred to the Mercante Hospital for studies, according to police sources.

Prosecutor Alejandra Rodríguez, in charge of the district’s UFI°9, is in charge of the investigation and seeks to establish the identity of the another suspect who fled and is intensely sought after.

The officer remains in serious condition and continues fighting for his life. The Police of the province of Buenos Aires have managed to capture one of the criminals.
