Gustavo Quinteros would like to direct again in Colo Colo

Gustavo Quinteros was one of the coaches who marked the history of Colo Colo. The Argentine coach of Bolivian nationality was in charge of saving Cacique from being relegated and, in the following months, he won the Chile Cup. Situation that, as time went by, achieved other important titles with the National Championship and the Super Cup.

Despite the good present that Gustavo Quinteros is experiencing as the technical command of Vélez Sarsfield, he opened up to the possibility of talking about Colo Colo. In a conversation with the DSports Chile program ‘De Fútbol Se Habla Así’, He expressed that, if he had the possibility of returning to the country, he would like to direct again in Colo Colo.

“Today, of course, if I return to Chile, I would like to return to Colo Colo because I was there for three years and three months, because we lived unforgettable moments. But you don’t know where football is going to take you and I don’t open or close the doors to any club. Likewise, I have a lot of love for all the clubs I was in, but today I am not thinking about returning but staying in Argentina.”coach Gustavo Quinteros began by pointing out.

But that was not all, because he also remembered the day that the fans chanted his name and that marked him during his stay with the club. “Greeting and thanking the people of Colo Colo who have supported me. I will never forget, I will never forget when people chanted my name, that is something that marked me forever. An eternal greeting”said the strategist.

The possibility of directing the Chilean National Team

Another of the topics that the coach referred to was related to the possibility he had of directing the Chilean National Team. The coach expressed that he was only close to the national bench once, when he met with Francis Cagigao, but he set his conditions for him to wait for him, since he wanted to end his contract with Colo Colo.

“Not in recent times. Not because he didn’t call me anyone, no one called me. I think the only time was when I was meeting with the Spanish manager (Francis) Cagigao. I met with him around June, July 2022. But well, we couldn’t make any progress because although my profile seemed good to him, he told me so.”he noted at the beginning.

Later, he stated that “I always told him that I had to finish the season with Colo Colo because it was an important year, we had formed a very competitive team and I wanted to be champion with Colo Colo. That was the only time I had the possibility, a call or a meeting. Nothing could be advanced because I always put the first priority or option of ending my contract, which was until November, let’s say.”ruled on the matter.
