The president of Cuba, Miguel Díaz-Canel, addressed the water supply situation in the country and the impact of the issue on the state of opinion of Cubans, official sources reported this Friday.

In the fourth installment of the information space Desde La Presidencia, broadcast on the YouTube channel of the Presidency of the Republic, the president spoke with the head of the National Institute of Hydraulic Resources (INRH), Antonio Rodríguez.

With the president of that Body of the Central State Administration (OACE), Díaz-Canel confronted the population’s opinions on the supply of the vital liquid, the leaks in its supply and the treatment of wastewater.

Likewise, the president of the INRH explained to the space audiences the work being carried out in various cities and communities of the nation to improve the water infrastructure, which has been in operation for many years while the population has continued to grow.

At the same time, Rodríguez presented the development strategy outlined by this OACD aimed at changing the energy matrix in the processes to guarantee water to the population and the national economy.

The dialogue also dealt with the importation of new equipment, the strong effects of the United States government blockade on the Antillean island that limits access to financing and the acquisition of supplies for this important activity.
