Since Google decided to eliminate unlimited storage in Google Photos in mid-2021, I have been trying different free alternatives to replace the big G photo backup app and of all of them the one that I liked the most is Amazon Photos, but, unfortunately, it has not completely convinced me, it offers you unlimited space for photos, but only 5 GB for videos.

This has forced me to assume that I was going to have to return to Google Photos and, therefore, contract one of the paid Google One plans to expand the storage, since I have long exceeded the 15 GB free. But since I always look for methods to reduce the cost of digital services, today I am going to tell you two simple tricks thanks to which I have been able expand my space in Google Photos without having to spend a single euro.

Create one or more new Google accounts

The easiest and free way to expand your Google Photos storage at zero cost is creating one or more additional Google accountssince each of them offers you 15 GB free to save your photos and videos, so that If you have three big G accounts you will have 45 GB of memory to store all your photographs and keep them safe.

The negative point of this method is that you will have to manually configure the upload of photos and videos to each account from the web version of Google Photos so that none of them become saturated. This is a somewhat tedious procedure, but it works perfectly.

Sign up for one of the Google One payment plans using the balance you have accumulated in Google Rewards

But, without a doubt, the most effective method to expand the storage of your Google Photos is to contract one of the Google One payment plans using the balance you have accumulated in Google Opinion Rewardsa Big G app that pays you for answering surveys about places you visit and uploading receipts for purchases you make there.

This way, if you have location activated in your Google account and you usually move around your city, you will be able get more than 2 euros a montha balance more than enough to pay for the basic Google One subscription that gives you 100 GB of shared storage for Google Photos, Google Drive and Gmail.

Likewise, if you already have an accumulated balance in Google Rewards, you can also contract one of the annual Google One plans, both the 100 GB one that costs 19.99 euros per year and the 200 GB one that has a price of 29.99 euros. In my specific case, I have hired the second one, since I have started sharing my Google One account with my wife and three other members of my family.

Furthermore, this method will allow you to kill two birds with one stone, since you can sign up for a payment plan for Google Photos without paying anything and, at the same time, redeem the balance you have accumulated in Google Rewards before it expires.
