Dollar rises while waiting for data in the US

The dollar ended the day higher, awaiting a series of relevant data in the USand also due to a drop in the price of copper, after the rebound experienced in the previous session.

The American currency It rose $15.35 to $911.85 according to data from the Electronic Stock Exchange.

“The greenback at a global level registers strengthening, strongly supported by the comments by Neel Kashkaria member of the Fed, who mentioned that we will not see changes in the interest rate until the inflation is controlled in the United States,” said Rafael Weber of Capitaria

The US inflation data is key, for the steps the Fed will take in their next meetings.

“This is being developed as a prelude to the GDP data that we will have Thursday in the United States and where a reduction of approximately 2% in the economic growth of the northern country is expected for the first semester and the consumption data that will be delivered this Friday, which could close a month with numbers quite different from what was expected,” said Felipe Sepúlveda of XTB Latam.

At the local level, this Thursday it will be known the unemployment data and on Friday industrial production.

On the other hand, copper fell 0.6% to US$10,443.5 a metric ton on the London Metal Exchange.

“The price of copper futures registers significant falls after its latest highs, reaching values ​​close to 4.7 dollars per ounce,” Weber added.
