Senate: minute by minute of the session in which the Bases Law and the fiscal package were approved

He provisional president of the Senate and parliamentarian for San Luis de La Libertad Avanza, Bartolome Abdala, made his assessment of the marathon session of the High cameraand after the general approval of the Bases Law and the fiscal package.

“Happily, we can tell citizens that our optimism became reality. It was a tight vote, it was not going to be loose, it was broken several times, where our vice president, Victoria Villarruel, had to break the tie. Her vote was predictable, so when it was tied, that gave us peace of mind that that part of the articles was going to be won, more than anything in the Base Law,” assured the legislator.

Furthermore, he maintained: “We are also happy because the tax law was approved, since it was a law that concerned different variables depending on the geography of our country. And based on the fact that in this law, not all the articles were approved, but the result for us is extremely positive.”

“There was a lot of work, discussion and consensus until the last minute. As a reporting member I had to propose modifications that occurred in the same debate, with suggestions. In this way, a law was approved that I am convinced the origin was in the executive, but which is a law of Congress. Both with the half-sanction in the Deputies, and now in the Senate,” he added.

The parliamentarian clarified how the treatment of the projects continues after being approved in the Senate. “Now it goes to Deputies for the modifications, which are several, but which are minimal. There has by no means been a carnage of this law. Reason why we are satisfied and knowing that in our libertarian ideology there are things that will not be renounced and there are some things that were left pending. We will have to continue exercising from the Executive, now with some valuable and important tool. And also with the tools that our Constitution gives you to continue exercising power.”

“The RIGI is the most important, because of how voluminous the investments can be. And so it is, for the feedback of the economies. At the same time I put the labor chapter, which I understand will offer the possibility of increasing the number of workers in formal work. “We are confident that it is a law that will do good for Argentina,” he concluded.
