The parties of the Green Hope Coalition (Green Alliance, New Liberalism, Dignity and Commitment and Green Oxygen) agreed to nominate the representative for Bogotá to be the president of the Chamber in the new legislature.

Her candidacy was approved with 11 votes in favour of the 20 possible votes from her bench. She will probably not be the only one, the Greens will have two candidates on 20 July and the plenary will decide.

Why does it matter?

The Greens’ candidacy stems from the agreements in Congress to elect the heads of committees each year. Here are the details of that agreement.

How friendly the next president of the House will be to the government is one of the tasks that the new and seasoned Minister of the Interior, Juan Fernando Cristo, has to face. In this episode of Huevos Revueltos con Política you will find the details.
