The national government postponed the entry into force of the rule that enables prepaid companies to apply fee increases differentially and that requires them to report increases in advance along with billing costs, through Resolution 3386/2024. published yesterday in the Official Gazette.

The decision to postpone until December 1 the application of Resolution 2155, carried out by the Superintendency of Services (SSS) headed by Gabriel Gonzalo Oriolo, was taken at the request of private medicine entities, with the objective of have a longer period for its implementation.

The rule in question, published at the beginning of September, establishes that increases in the fees of the coverage plans offered by prepaid companies “may be applied in a variable manner according to the conditions of the plan (with or without co-payments) and the regions or areas in which which medical care is provided”.

In addition, it stipulates that entities “must inform the SSS about such increases, specifying the criteria used for each area or region, as well as the existence or not of co-payment systems.”

Likewise, it determines that the communication of adjustments in the value of the quotas must be made “within 5 days after the publication of the last Consumer Price Index (CPI) carried out monthly by Indec”, and provides that “they must provide to its members a detailed breakdown of the concepts included in the fees they bill monthly”.
