Amsafé anticipated his discomfort and on Friday it will be decided whether there will be a strike

After the joint meeting this Wednesday afternoon between the representatives of the provincial government and the representatives of the Santa Fe Teachers’ Association (Amsafé) and the private education union (Sadop), the head of the union that brings together public teachers , Rodrigo Alonso once again reignited a climate of tension and discomfort after the 12 percent offered by the Gray House for a salary increase in the last quarter of the year.

“It is a proposal that does not account for what we have lost during the year, which does not account for the debt that the 2023 joint government still has, which in its electoral campaign said it was going to comply, which does not account of what he established in his electoral campaign. Here it must be said that there is not even a trigger clause, inflation is not beat, teachers are not respected,” the union member harshly criticized.

The Santa Fe government once again called for joint meetings, first with the agents of the central administration concentrated in the Civil Personal Union of the Nation (Upcn) and the Association of State Workers (ATE). There the 12 percent offer was reflected (it consists of three increases: 6% in October, 3% in November and another 3% in December). Upcn will decide between this Thursday and Friday whether to accept or reject, while ATE will do so next Tuesday.

Rodrigo Alonso “the offer is similar to the one offered in the central joint venture with a guarantee of 60,000 pesos that will be applied in the case of the teaching sector by position and taking into account the teaching hours, in the case of the secondary level, 30 hours of classes to obtain the 60,000 pesos guaranteed, in the case of higher education, 24 hours of classes,” he said, adding: “We understand that it is a proposal that does not take into account the claims that we have presented less than a week ago. that the government is unaware of the debt it still has with the workers, with the active, with the retirees. The government has once again taken a definition of presenting a proposal without taking into account the salary loss that the education workers have.” .

In another section of his statements after the conclave, Alonso expressed his disappointment. “Undoubtedly we were expecting a proposal that begins to retrace a path. It was a fairly quick meeting, because in truth there was no discussion. The government has come to communicate a definition that it has taken without consulting the education workers. And comes to put on the table a definition that again, in our opinion, is in line with what is happening, which are policies and proposals that do not take into account the needs we have and undoubtedly we hoped that this joint proposal could retrace this path and could incorporate elements that for us are fundamental to begin to improve the salary, labor, and pension rights of education workers and of course school workers.”

Then, the head of Amsafé dedicated himself to reviewing the demands that were put on the negotiation table in each joint meeting. “It is a proposal that does not account for what we have lost during the year, which does not account for the debt that the 2023 joint government still has, which in its electoral campaign said it was going to comply, which does not account of what he established in his electoral campaign. Here it must be said that there is not even a trigger clause, inflation is not beaten, teachers are not respected because notice that we once again have a joint proposal that says absolutely nothing about the difficulties. that we, the education workers, have.”

The truth is that traditionally, Amsafé puts to a vote in its departmental departments the motions that arise in each government salary offer and then decides in the provincial assembly, which on this occasion will take place this Friday at 10 in the provincial capital. “We are concerned that the provincial government delivered a proposal that does not contain any of the points that we have been raising both related to salary and working conditions,” concluded Alonso.
