Argentina Y-Tec and Israelí XTralit will cooperate in direct lithium extraction

Buenos Aires, May 5 (Eficom) .- The Argentine and-Tec company, belonging to the YPF company, and the Israelí XTralit (XL) will cooperate for the of lithium extraction technology in Argentina.

As reported on Monday YPF in a statement, Y-Tec and XL signed an agreement to evaluate an “innovative technology” of direct lithium extraction in salmuelas of Argentina.

It is the direct extraction of lithium (DLE), a procedure that allows the mineral to be obtained “more efficiently and sustainably than through traditional methods,” the statement stands out.

The technique optimizes the consumption of water and energy and, in addition, allows improving the efficiency in lithium recovery.

XL developed a “economically more efficient and environmentally more sustainable DLE technology and that allows us to obtain very even in salmuelas with low lithium concentrations,” said YPF.

The objective of the agreement is to analyze the lithium salmuelas of Argentina to study the feasibility of applying that technology in the South American country, which will be jointly evaluated between XL, Y-Tec e YPF. EFE
