Located in the town of Castromaoin the province of Ourense, this house of 150 square meters It is the perfect example of how to make a rehabilitation keeping the original essence present. The project, carried out by PLP Atelier Not only does it recover a forgotten architectural heritage, but reinterprets the rural habitat from a current, serene and functional look. Something that, it seems, that has captivated thousands of people through the networks, because this project has been viral from 2020.
Specifically, three old deteriorated tillage houses and abandoned have been transformed into a two -story house in which the roof has been rebuilt, rearranged the spaces and created a Wooden catwalk that connects the volumes with subtlety. The PLP Atelier study has thus addressed rehabilitation with a logic of respect: towards pre -existing matter, towards context and towards contemporary inhabiting ways. The result is a delicate balance between what was and what is and will be in the future.
