Photography value the richness of the Balearic sea

The past 2 y 3 May, the Unibin collaboration with the Mare project – Audiovisual Celen for the Balearic sea conservation– And observers of the sea, organized a workshop to bring underwater photography to the student community and active participation in marine conservation.

With the participation of 25 people with a high degree of involvement, the workshop was divided into two sessions: on , May 2, the building Sa Riera He hosted a theoretical session in which he reflected on the power of the image for science and art, the importance of citizen science and the Mare project and the Observers of the Sea project were announced.

On , May 3, in Cala Comtessa (Illetes, Calvià), participants carried out a photographic snorkeling practice in which they could capture underwater images with submersible cameras and learn to identify marine species with the support of didactic materials.

History

The biologist and technical diver Iván Ruizformer student of the UIB, member of observers of the sea and winner of the Mare Animalia Amateur in 2024, made a tour of the history of underwater photography and encouraged the participants to join both the Mare contest and the Observers of the Observers of the Sea.
