This will be the city of justice in Madrid

The Community of has officially presented at the Royal Correos Casa the project of the future City of , an ambitious judicial complex that will to be built in June in the Valdebebas neighborhood. The act has also served to publicize a that recreates how the enclosure will be over.

This macroproject, with an expected investment of more than 653 million euros, will unify 26 judicial venues currently distributed by the capital and will concentrate all the Madrid judicial activity on a single campus of more than 470,000 square meters of surface.

The project has been awarded in two large lots. Lot 1, which covers the drafting of projects and execution of the Superior Court of Justice, Provincial Hearings and a parking Public, was assigned to the UTE formed by Ohla, Azvi and Rover Infrastructure. The design of this set is in charge of the Lamela architecture study. It is in front of the wide access place. On both sides, the Provincial Court, which divided into two buildings together on its floor by a Macrocause room with a capacity of 200 people.

Lot 2, which includes the buildings of the civil, criminal jurisdictions and the Prosecutor’s Office, was awarded to the UTE composed of acting and dredged, signed by the Fenwick Iribarren study.

One of the most prominent elements of the new campus will be its great 13,500 square meters, with green areas, a central source and bicycle parking. In addition, the creation of 40,000 square meters of outer gardens and vegetable covers with native species is contemplated, as well as a central avenue of almost 10,000 square meters that will articulate the entire enclosure.

The works will be executed in several phases. In 2026 the buildings of the Superior Court of Justice of Madrid (TSJM), the Provincial Court and the First Instance Courts will be completed. In 2027 the rest of the jurisdictions will be completed, except for the penalty, which will be delivered in 2028, within the total period of 36 months.

It is estimated that more than 33,000 people will travel daily through the City of Justice, which will courts, archives, deposits, coffee shops, nurseries and security areas. In addition, 30% of the for future judicial needs has been reserved, which will adapt the complex to the demands of the future.

With this project, the Regional Government has launched a long -awaited plan for almost two decades, which will transform the Administration of Madrid justice.
