Rehabilitation of the farm A Panda da Dá in As Pontes (A Coruña) – Ander Bados Sesma Studio Copla Juan Carlos Bamba to Senén Rivero


The contest winning team has been announced to rehabilitate the farm to Panda da Dá, located in As Pontes (A Coruña). Promoted by the company Funcas with the support of the RIA Foundation of David Chipperfield, the initiative aims to transform a farm of 410 hectares both at the architectural and landscape level. The project seeks to convert the enclave into a for and research in the forestry sector, in addition to consolidating as a meeting point for entities linked to the sustainable management of the territory and the wood value .

The jury, composed of Aurora Armental, Graça Correia and Carme Pinós, has selected the proposal of Atelier Ander Bados, Studio Copla, Bamba Studio, To and Senén Rivero. Presented under the motto ‘The Forest of the Party’, the project stands out for its ability to integrate the existing heritage with a contemporary, respectful and proactive vision of the productive and social uses of the environment.

The winning team will be awarded with 20,000 euros, in addition to the of the contract for the complete of the project. The other four finalists – Architects Arkabe; Brandão Costa Architects; João Mendes Ribeiro and Luísa baby; and Colab and Assemble – each will receive an endowment of 5,000 euros in recognition of the quality of their proposals.

The RIA Foundation has played a key role in the , developing preliminary studies that allowed to define a new functional program for the farm and supporting Finsa in the approach, development and dissemination of the contest.

In addition, as of May 28, the headquarters of the Casa Ria Foundation in Santiago de Compostela will host an open exhibition to the public where the finalist projects can be known in detail.
