The Euroleague has just announced the list of eight referees that will lead the games of the Final Four of the competition, which will take place in Abu Dhabi between May 23 and 25. It highlights the presence of two Spanish members, specifically Emilio Pérez Pizarro and Carlos Peruga, who will accompany the German Robert Lottermoser, the Serbian Ilija Belosevic, the Italian Carmelo Paternico, the Lithuanian Arturas Sukys, the Frenchman Mehdi Difallah and the Slovenian Milan Nedovic.

This is the first time in many years with Spanish referees in the Final Four, since there can be no members of the nationality of any of the four participating teams and that has not happened in the Final Four for more than twenty years (2004). This year they dispute the final Four two Greek teams (Panathinaikos and Olympiacos), a Turkish (Fenerbahçe) and a Monegasco (Monaco).
The Spanish basketball is the only one that has double representation among the referees selected for this edition, perhaps a way to compensate for this historical absence of the last two decades.
