Houston (AP) – Stephen Curry scored 14 of his 22 points in the last quarter, Buddy Hield leaned nine triples, added 33 points, and the Golden State Warriors advanced Sunday night to the semifinals of the West Conference with a 103-89 victory over the Houston Rockets in game 7.
The Warriors will face the Minnesota Timberwolves on Tuesday night in Minnesota.
Hield had a first half on with six triples and 22 points to take the Warriors to a 12 -point advantage, while Curry scored only three points before the break. Then, Curry took over in the final minutes and made his characteristic gesture of “good night” while the Warriors left the rocks behind.
The Warriors became the seventh team in the NBA history to advance the semifinals as seventh planted and eliminated Houston in the playoffs for the fifth time. They sent home to the teams led by James Harden four times between 2015 and 2019.
Hield succeeded nine of 11 from the three -point line, establishing an NBA record for a 7 game and lighting more triple than the rockets, who achieved six of 18 from long distance.
Amen Thompson scored 24 points to lead Houston, who forced game 7 with two consecutive victories but could not overcome the experienced Warriors.
