Up to 45 stops have been installed on the promenade, between bookstores, publishers and associations to celebrate Sant Jordi’s Day and there we have taken the microphones from ‘Today for Ibiza and Formentera’ to bring them all the leading voices of the day.
This year, according to professionals in the sector, there are ‘Best Self’ Claros: the books of the recently deceased Mario Vargas Llosa and those who have Pope Francis as protagonist, although it is a day in which more particular publications are also sought.
The bookseller Pedro González affirms that children’s and youth literature also triumphs, which demonstrates, he says, that there is love to reading among new generations.
To the literature and the activities related to the books, the tradition of giving Roses by Sant Jordi, with the presence of five florists who have also installed positions on the Paseo Vara de Rey. And in this sense, the floristeros affirm, there are always news, but the great winner is still the red rose.
Book signatures have been organized throughout the day with even more than thirty local authors, storytelling shows and children’s workshops, among other proposals.

The festival of Sant Jordi is also the protagonist in that urban nucleus, where it has been organized, as a main course for its big day, the concerts of Marc Cuevas and RESONDORES, starting at 8:30 in the afternoon.
