Next , in the auditorium of the Rivadavia Library, Carlos Rivas Wilsen will present his book about the Beatles: the Beatle Revolution (a conspiracy of the destination).

The appointment will be from 20, with admission, although as the capacity of the place is limited, inscriptions are received on the Municipal Theater website.

“Not only for all the bibliography that I accumulated over the years, but because I am passionate about history and, even, I even studied a couple of years at the University of the South,” said the author recently, he anticipated his idea.

He added: “If I was a fan of the Beatles I became a admirer of his music, but I clarify: when you become a biographer you must have a historical look that does not make concessions. I mean that if you have to speak badly of John, Paul, George or Ringo you must do it.”

“Just as they had great successes, they made mistakes and in the book I turn all the information trying to be as equanimous as possible, and not without clarifying that I admire and love their music.”

In addition, Rivas Wilsen said that the spirit of the book also goes through tracing a parallel between Bahía Blanca, engineer White and Liverpool.

“The layout of the railway line and the port of Liverpool, saving the enormous distances, has a lot to do with that of the railroad and the port of engineer White who, by the way, was also made by English. The relationship is clear.”

“On the other hand there is the tremendous influence that the Beatles have had in the Argentine musicians, starting with the Shakers, who have been the pioneers in terms of beatlemania, passing through Lito Nebbia, El Flaco Spinetta, Charly García, León Gieco and many others. Inclusive, there is also the Chango Farías Gómez, member of the Huanca Hua, a member who said that the musical arrangements he did for his band had influence of the Beatles. ”

“All these links related to Bahía Blanca represent an added value for the book, since it was designed to add from a city that has a lot of connection with the Beatles. It seemed to me that, without neglecting its history, it made sense to write something different.”

Where the passion is born

“At the end of the 60s I already collected records. He did a program in Lu3 and there was a announcer of artistic name Osvaldo Linares, which was called Máximo Levy, a very generous person who invited me to do half an hour Beatle of the continuing musical on Saturdays. So I debuted on radio,” says Rivas Wilsen.

“I already worked on the most important disquerry of Bahía Blanca, which was A and V Discs, of the Petrosino (Antonio and Vicente), which was in the Plaza and American galleries. There I was 10 years, from 67 to 77 and already had several Beatles albums,” he expands.

“In 71 I started on National Radio. And since that first conference of 69 they began to invite me to give talks from English culture, the French and even from the National University of the South, in a cycle organized by Daniela and Gabriela Arellano,” he recalls.

“Then they organized a talk about the history of George Harrison in the House of Culture. Also Quique Agesa, who was director of the Municipal Theater, invited me to give an exhibition about the band with Marcelo Arce,” he says.

Rivas Wilsen, a 74 -year -old bahiense and with two daughters, began to venture into the music infected by a melómano .

“In the mid -50s I put (his father) the 78, since the Long Play had not yet left and made me listen to tango, folklore, classical music, jazz. There he formed me in the love of music, especially tango and folklore,” he says.

Anyway, Rivas Wilsen had a program that pioneered the diffusion of national and universal rock. It was on the national radio between the 70s and 80s, which was called a new dimension and left on Saturdays from 16 to 17.

It also passed through Lu2 Radio Bahía Blanca.

“I started first doing programs in 1977, then they designated me at the disco and there I retired in 2016,” he concludes.
