The Urpi itinerant library celebrated the mini festival for Book Day On Wednesday, April 23 at the Calca Stadium, in strategic alliance with the Provincial municipality of Calca. The event took place from 2:00 pm to 6:00 pm with the aim of Promote the habit of reading in children and the community in general.
During the event, various scheduled activities were carried out, including aloud reading of the story “El Chasqui”, music and song by a guest specialist from Chile and the presentation of cardboard books prepared by children from the community of Chincheros as part of the Iberbiblioteca winning project.
-The writerCecilia Granada made a brief exhibition on African migration to Peru From his book “Wonderful stories of our African grandparents”, culminating with the narration of a story. The oral narrator Nino Mirones closed the festival with two narratives that captured the attention of large and small.
In parallel, an exhibition and sale of children’s books and mini -Puriq Cartonera was carried out, as well as the ordering and signaling of the itinerant library collections. Also The latest publication of the Minedu “Stories to share with family” and the informative cartoons published by the Environmental Library was made available to users.
The community of Teachers, parents and authorities expressed their satisfaction with the work done by the URPI Library. As a result of the positive impact of the event, the authorities of the municipality of Calca have expressed their conviction about the need to reopen the Municipal Library to continue providing access to reading the entire community.
