On May 10, the Plaza Morocco will become a vibrant meeting port for readers, writers and lovers of literature of all ages in the third edition of the Sexitan Book Fair, which this year has as its motto ‘an ocean of stories.
The Councilor for Culture of the City of Almuñécar, Alberto García Gilabert, has assured that, after the success of the previous editions, “this fair is consolidated as an essential event in the cultural calendar of the Costa Tropical, offering a unique space for the promotion of reading and the discovery of new literary voices.”
From the Department of Culture and the direction of the Municipal Library ‘Jesús Serrano Garijo’ have agreed that “the Marine Breeze will inspire a program full of activities for all tastes, with the book as a lighthouse that guides our emotions and imagination,” said Susana García, a municipal librarian.
The III Sexitan Book Fair will be attended by prominent authors who will enrich the event with their talent and perspectives, such as Fernando Navarro, a renowned screenwriter and writer of captivating stories, including his work as a screenwriter of the acclaimed film ‘Second prize’. His film and narrative vision will contribute a unique perspective on the creation of worlds and characters.

Likewise, the Sexitan Fair will feature Ayes Tortosa, in which “the sensitivity and depth of this writer’s work will invite readers to explore new emotions and reflections through their pages,” said Susana García.
The journalist, poet and writer MS @poesiayrosvicios, will also share her passion for words and her ability to transform experiences into verses that connect with the soul.

The municipal head of Culture, Alberto García Gilabert, said that the Plaza Morocco will host this day “an ocean of stories and activities for all. The fair will offer a wide range of events designed to promote love for reading in all its forms.” From meetings with authors, where the public will have the opportunity to meet the guest authors closely, participate in colloquiums and book signatures, a raffle of 10 copies of the emblematic ‘sailor’ Marinero ‘by Rafael Alberti or storytelling for the little ones, “who can immerse themselves in exciting stories that awaken their imagination and curiosity for reading.”
For its part, the librarian, Susana García, recalled that there will also be room for the presentation of authors. “The Fair will give voice to literary talents of Malaga, Granada, Almería, Córdoba and, of course, the sexitan authors, showing the wealth and diversity of Andalusian literary creation.”
The fair will feature local and publishing libraries stand so that visitors can explore a wide selection of editorial and classic news of all genres.
Finally, both from the Department of Culture, as well as the Almuñécar Municipal Library, they have reiterated their commitment to culture, reading and books, expressing their support to the editorial sector and inviting the population and the media to participate in this “celebration of letters and the sea.”
