Within the framework of the International Book Day, a new installment of books in secondary schools of Salta was made. The initiative, the result of a joint work between the Ministry of Education, the company EDESA and the newspaper El Tribuno, seeks to strengthen access to reading and cultural identity in young Salta. The delivery was completed in the auditorium of the former National College and was attended by students and managers from 10 Salta schools.
Víctor Guerra, general Director of Professional Technical Education and Professional Training, celebrated the event and highlighted the “Coordination this action articulated with Edesa, with whom we have an agreement, and with the tribune. This type of collaboration between the public and private sector is for the direct benefit of our students. These specimens will be used both for reading and for moments of recreation. “
during the event, 100 books were delivered, distributed among more than 10 educational institutions. Jorge Luis Salvano, general manager of Edesa stressed the symbolic value of this action on such a significant date:
“This is the second installment we make within the project, and we are already planning more. Today we deliver 10 copies by institution. The important thing is that these books rescue cultural figures from Salta as Victorino de la Plaza, Juan Carlos Dávalos, José de Moldes, and others that have forged our identity.”
“Our motto is ‘energy that transforms’ and we believe that reading is also a form of transformative energy.”
The students present also shared their experience. César Ismael, from the February 20 school, said:
“Our teacher told us that we were going to participate, and it seems to me a very interesting initiative. I am already thinking of studying psychology.”
Another student, Karina Martínez, expressed her enthusiasm:
“I am orienting some computer science. I liked that books have images and show more about Salta.”
The teachers and managers of the institutions also highlighted the importance of this proposal. The director of the 5080 school, Claudia Terrones, stressed that they were the hosts, but the organization He was in charge of the Ministry and Edesa. “This initiative is an investment in Salteño cultural capital. All books deal with personalities that built salteñidad, that sense of belonging so ours.”
For its part, the director of the College February 20 valued the experience for her students, since I consider that it is very valuable that the students live this type of acts, outside the traditional school context. In addition, the fifth boys, who are flagged, deserve this recognition. “It is a way to motivate them and make the effort make sense,” he added.
The project will continue during the year with new deliveries, strengthening the link between education, culture and community.
