“It is a great honor to be part of the Tijuana Book Fair,” said María del Rosario Ruiz, director of the El Trompo Museum.
“This year was an atypical year in the organization of the Fair, in the sense that it implied the change both at the federal and municipal government level; that implied a challenge for the fair,” said Vladimir López, president of the Union of Libreros de Tijuana.

For Mayor Ismael Burgueño, the Tijuana Book Fair in Museum El Trompo will be “a dignified and inclusive fair”.
Founded in 1980 by the initiative of Don Alfonso López Camacho and seconded by the booksellers of Tijuana, the fair has been financially supported by the City Council and/or the CECUT, and has had headquarters such as Eighth Street (1980-1981), Plaza Río (1984, after its suspension in 1982 and 1983), Cecut (1985-1992), Municipal Palace (1993-2001) (2002-2008), Parking for Plaza Río (2009-2012) and Cecut (2013-2024).
The Federal Administration 2012-2018 of the Tijuana Cultural Center (CECUT) had managed to label 3 million pesos per year, more infrastructure and human resources for the organization of the Tijuana Book Fair, but the direction of Vianka Robles Santana (2018-2024) eliminated the resource, even in the Federation Expenditure Budget (PEF) 2025 was not appointed a budget for the editorial event.
