Dominican literature is presented in Buenos Aires with the launch of a playlist for Alejandra by Sugel Gamal
Buenos Aires, May 2025 – In the context of the International Book Fair of Buenos Aires 2025 the official launch of A playlist for Alejandra and other storiesthe most recent work of the Dominican-Palestinian writer and designer Sugel Gamal Michelén, in an event organized by the Dominican embassy in collaboration with the Kodama Museum of the University of Buenos Aires.
The presence of consular body members, figures from the University of Buenos Aires and guests from the local and regional editorial field undoubtedly gave great relevance and diversity of perspectives.
A playlist for Alejandra It is a collection of 37 stories that pay tribute to the city of Santo Domingo and the daily life of the Dominican Republic. Writings originally published in OH magazine! Magazine From the daily listing, the stories capture with sensitivity and emotional acuity the nuances, challenges and memories that make up the Dominican urban reality.
This beautiful work, whose cover was conceptualized by the renowned designer and creative entrepreneur Mario de Ferrari, offers an intimate look and the time criticism of contemporary life in the Dominican Republic, reconfiguring the possibilities of the story as a literary genre.
The publication is backed by a distribution agreement for all Latin America with the renowned Mexican publishing house Becrea Editora 360 °, and has been printed by Animal People in Traslasierra, Córdoba (Argentina), guaranteeing its circulation both regional and internationally.

Sugel Gamal Michelén He is a Dominican-Palestinian fashion writer and designer, graduated from Western Michigan University. His literary work challenges the borders of the traditional story, exploring a diversity of voices, styles and perspectives that expand the definitions of the narrative. His work has been published in prestigious media of United Kingdom, Mexico, the United States and the Dominican Republic.
