
The environmental Evaluation Service (Sea) revealed that in April 2025, the Environmental Evaluation Commissions (COEVA) evaluated 28 projects nationwide, resulting in the approval of 27 with a total investment of more than US $ 2,260 million, with the exception of one rejection of one in the Los Lagos region.
Details of the approved projects
Among the outstanding approvals are the “Operational Continuation Sanitary Fill Hidronor Zona Sur” in the Biobío and the “Real Estate Project Barrio Hacienda Norte Peñalolén” in the Metropolitan Region. The diversity of the productive sectors represented includes energy, environmental sanitation, real estate and mining sector.
Participation of regional commissions
Eleven environmental evaluation commissions evaluated projects during this period, while five regions, Arica and Parinacota, Tarapacá, Coquimbo, La Araucanía and Aysén, did not participate in the evaluation of projects.
Knowing the Coeva
The Environmental Evaluation Commissions (COEVA), in accordance with Law No. 19,300, determine the environmental viability of the projects, deciding their approval, rejection or decreed conditions. These commissions are chaired by presidential delegates and made up of regional ministerial secretaries.
