Mortgages grow in stratum B, but offer is saturated in the A | Tu-Dinero

The CEO of Banco Pichincha, Renzo Ricci, in exclusive conversation with management, detailed the phase of the strategic plan that the financial entity follows, the products to which it is giving priority in its portfolio and the perspective against local and global risks, what else did the executive revealed?

What is Pichincha’s balance in the quarter?

This year ends the strategic plan that we started in 2023 and we are already seeing the in the first months of 2025. The usefulness of March is not published yet but we could reach some S/ 14 million in this quarter, unlike last year we had a loss of S/ 34 million.

What implications will the strategic plan have this year?

We traced it for three years and the first thing that allowed us was to modify the anchief structure, focus more on savings accounts and reduce the professional (institutional) source that is more volatile and more expensive. In addition, we are on the way to reaching a 50/50 balance between the and companies. Before this percentage was 70% and 30%, respectively.

Is priority to some sectors in Banca Company?

Yes. We leave non -strategic business that includes SMEs and microfinance. We also decided to get out of medium enterprises. Actually, we have been left alone with customers who invoice a year above S/ 30 million.

Why does the medium -sized credit fail to recover?

The two -year environment of high inflation and the last period of recession 2023 stuck hard in small and medium -sized companies, as well as in consumer loans on the side of people. And, indeed, the median company has not yet had a recovery as observed in other segments.

When could the negative trend that these loans follow?

There is a very large market of opportunities in segment B, where people have a certain range of income and delinquency is a bit lower. I refer to real estate between S/ 250,000 and S/ 500,000. In segment A we do not see much dynamism, maybe there is already a little saturation in the offer.

And in Mivivienda?

We also see many opportunities here. There is a high housing deficit, many Peruvians with the dream of their first property. That’s where we are also putting the focus.
