Thinking about this, Visa prepares to launch an innovative system that will allow paying the passage without using the traditional blue card, and that will be available in the coming months.

This new paymentless payment model with cards, which has already been adopted in the EFE trains of Valparaíso and Chillán, It will also be available soon in Rancagua and Central Station.
According to the country manager for Chile of Visa, Víctor Wipe, this implementation will represent a “Transport democratization” which will also contribute to promoting tourism.

How visa contactless payment is used in the subway
To use this service, it will be necessary to have a card that has the symbol of the three lines, indicating that it is contactless. Similarly, the validator of the passage must show a similar icon that indicates its compatibility with this system.
If both conditions are met, it will only be enough to bring the visa card to the reader for a few seconds. The device will immediately confirm that the payment was processed correctly.
