The Israel Government has invited the Venezuelan opposition presidential candidate, Edmundo González, who has referred as “elected president” on Thursday, and has expressed his confidence that both countries restore relations soon.
Israel’s Foreign Minister Gideon Saar, has reported through his account in social network X of a conversation with María Corina Machado and González, who thanked him through social networks his “support and commitment” to Venezuelans.
“I congratulated the president for his impressive victory in the elections and expressed my hope that the legitimate and fair struggle for the freedom and democracy of the citizens of Venezuela ends soon,” he said.
Saar has transferred to González that joins the request of others “many around the world” so that the Venezuelan president, Nicolás Maduro, whom he has defined as a “ally of the murderous regime of the Ayatolás in Iran”, respect “the will” expressed in the polls on July 28, 2024.
He also said that he has invited the “elected president” to visit Israel in the hope that “with the return of democracy to Venezuela, full diplomatic relations between the two countries are restored. Long live Venezuela free!”
