The former senator of the Ciro Ramírez Democratic Center was released this Friday, by order of the Special First Instance Chamber of the Supreme Court of Justice, who considered that the defendant does not represent a danger in the interference in his process. Ramírez is investigated for corruption in the well -known case of puppets II, which involved the company Projected Quindío, in the government of the dentist Roberto Jairo Jaramillo Cárdenas.
“Revoke the assurance measure, because this It is unnecessary, given that it has already fulfilled the purpose for which it was imposed -evidence the obstruction of the process-, so the freedom of the processing will be ordered and communicate this determination to the same authorities, ”said Jorge Emilio Cárdenas, head of the Special First Instance Chamber.
Former Ramírez was held in La Picota prison for 18 months, after accusation on the participation of corruption network of Proyecta Quindío, made by the former manager of this entity Pablo César Herrera, who was arrested at the facilities of the Quindío Government for the same facts.
Pablo César Herrera had been appointed as Manager of Proyo Quindío by former governor Roberto Jairo Jaramillo Cárdenas and on the recommendation of former senator Mario Castaño, the intellectual author of the entire corruption network that had as a center the administration of Jaramillo Cárdenas.
Former Senator Ciro Ramírez is investigated because he would have diverted more than 10 millionaires contracts through the company Proyo Quindío with financing of the DPS that had as its object the construction of works in the departments of Quindío and Tolima, for a sum of more than $ 40,000 million pesos. Ramírez’s freedom was decreed this Friday, May 2, but his departure from La Picota prison was not confirmed.
Freedom is conditional, and the former senator remains linked to research within the same process.
