He failed to survive the driver of the pipe of the central gas company that caught fire last Tuesday in the municipality of Jesús María and after several days of agony, finally died last Friday at the Hospital de Occidente, in the city of Guadalajara, Jalisco, where he was transferred urgently to receive specialized medical care.
The deadly victim of this work accident was Mr. Gaudencio Ruiz Flores, who was 62 years old.
This gas delivery man became an authentic hero, because he saved the lives of many people, as he managed to close the delivery truck valve and avoided an explosion, although he suffered third grade burns in 90 percent of the body surface.
The tragedy was recorded last Tuesday, April 29 at 11:00 a.m., in a textile company that is located on Alejandro de la Cruz Saucedo and crossing with the Avenida Century North, in the municipality of Jesús María.
The now deceased arrived at the LP gas to the GASERA company and did so in a pipe -type truck of the Central Gas Company.
After supplying a stationary tank and removing the hose, a gas leak was not detected.
A few meters away, there were some workers performing welding work, which caused a flame at a certain time and the gas delivery truck began to fire.
Although the flames got out of control and expanded rapidly, Mr. Gaudencio approached to close the truck valve and thus avoided an explosion, although the sexagenarian suffered burns in 90 percent of his body.
At the scene, preventive police from Jesús María, state police and agents of the Municipal Civil Guard arrived, as well as ambulances of the ISSEA.
In total 9 people were served, six of whom had nervous breakdown, while two of the textile workers suffered burns in their hands, at the time they tried to quell the fire.
However, Mr. Gaudencio was seriously injured and was transferred to HGZ No. 3 of the IMSS located in the municipality of Jesús María, to receive medical care.
For the seriousness of the burns, on Wednesday, April 30 he was transferred to the city of Guadalajara and entered the Specialties Center of the Western Hospital, where he finally died Friday night.
The Attorney General of Jalisco, through the agent of the Public Ministry and the personnel of the Jalisco Institute of Forensic Sciences (IJCF), became aware of the facts.
