Mexico City, May 4, 2025. – During May and June, the Mexican capital becomes a gigantic film scenario with more than 200 free projections in almost 50 enclosures of 13 mayorshipsthanks to the initiative Cinema in the citypromoted by the Ministry of Capital Culture, ProcinecdMX and the Commission of Filmations of Mexico City.
The programming includes Recognized films internationallyhow No Other Landrecently awarded documentary with the Oscar Award, which recounts the eviction of Palestinian communities by Israeli authorities. This powerful tape will have 25 functions in different public spaces of the city.
The film offer also contemplates titles such as ALBA Womenby Jimena Montemayor, with 32 Functionsthat revives the first contemporary guerrilla survey in Chihuahua; and RainRodrigo García Saiz’s spring opera, who intertwines six stories under a constant storm and will be projected 40 times. They also stand out Dirtyby Astrid Rondero and Fernanda Valadez, with 23 functionsy The faultby Alana Simões, projected in the same number of occasions within the framework of teacher day.
In commemoration of World Environment Day (June 5), will be shared Two short film programs focused on the environmental crisis and the defense of the planet. These functions include works such as What trees talk about, Rabbit guardians on the moon, Tolvanera y WOMEN WOMENamong others, created in collaboration with ProcinecdMX and the Mexican Network of Environmental Journalists.
The spaces that will house these projections cover from the CDMX headlights, the utopias of Iztapalapa, Community Cineclubes and Cultural Centerseven subway stations such as Zapata Metro movie theater. The functions will arrive in mayors such as Iztapalapa, Cuauhtémoc, Miguel Hidalgo, Benito Juárez, Coyoacán, Tláhuac, Gustavo A. Madero, Milpa Alta, Magdalena Contreras, Iztacalco, Álvaro Obregón and Azcapotzalco.
This initiative reinforces the commitment of the capital government, headed by Clara Brugadato bring art and culture closer to the entire population, guaranteeing the right to the enjoyment of cinema regardless of the area or economic condition.
