The Committee for the Freedom of Political Prisoners warned about the death of the citizen Lindomar Jesús Amaro Bustamante (27 years), which happened this Saturday, May 3 at the Tocorón Penitentiary Center, in the Aragua state.
Lindomar Amaro stopped him in the post -election context when officials of the Bolivarian National Police in the state Cojedes took him when he headed to his home aboard a motorcycle.
The alleged cause of Amaro’s death is by hanging. The committee also reported that Jhoandri Silva also attempted his life and recently discharged him from the Maracay Military Hospital after suffering a nervous breakdown that caused him the confinement, mistreatment and anguish for his daughter.
“According to relatives, Lindomar attempted against his life before, and although they warned, he received no medical attention or protection. This omission aggravates the responsibility of the State for an avoidable death,” the committee wrote through his account in X.
The committee indicated that both men were about 15 days in the so -called “punishment cells or tigritos”, places that use custodians for torture and psychological abuse. They were allegedly threats that they would rot there for participating in the protests after the presidential election of July 28, 2024.
“With the death of Lindomar, there are already at least six people who die in custody of the Venezuelan State between 2024 and what goes from 2025, confirming a policy of abandonment and impunity within the penitentiary system,” added the committee.
