The end of the world is a concern that has persecuted science for centuries. The ancient civilizations analyzed the position of the stars or the movement of the birds to create all kinds of myths and legends around the apocalypse. Current investigations use more modern systems with NASA to the head to confirm a theory of Stephen Hawking.
The space agency has warned on numerous meteorites that will pass near Earth, although none has endangered humanity at the moment. The end of the world could occur with aggressive global pandemics, biochemical threats, even AI taking control.
Stephen Hawking assured that the final destination of the Earth was already writtenand the end of the world could be much closer to what science thought. “Humanity has until the year 2600 before the earth becomes a gigantic fireball,” says the physicist in the documentary The Search for a New Earth.
Hawking thought that the end of the world would be caused by several catastrophes, not one like the meteorite that ended the dinosaurs. Climate change could be one of the main triggers with all the consequences it would have for life on earth: Global warming, acid rain, extreme weather events, droughts and disappearance of life.
NASA has confirmed Stephen Hawking’s theory
NASA has taken the warnings of Stephen Hawking very seriously and is taking measures to avoid a catastrophe that ends life on earth. The space agency works on several programs to monitor potential threats, from detecting asteroids that could hit the planet to satellites that study the climate.
“I am convinced that humans must leave the earth and create a new home elsewhere. Those who stay, risk being annihilated”said Hawking in the documentary.
NASA is looking for planets that could simulate the living conditions of the Earth for decades. The space agency and others such as Spacex already work in promising programs to create a colony inhabited on Mars.
