The Institute for Social Economy – IPES, in alliance with national Rice FederationFedearroz, leads the first time the ‘Rice Festival’, An event that will take the capital, in order to promote the social economy, generate commercialization opportunities for chefs and cooks of the market district places and exalt the contribution of rice producers to the economic and social development of Bogotá.
The event, which is part of the IPES strategy to strengthen the local economy and boost traditional gastronomy, will offer citizens an experience full of flavor, tradition, innovation and fusion. For three days, the rice will be the protagonist at a gastronomic festival that will include cultural activities, entrepreneurship samples, artistic presentations and training spaces and demonstrations of the diverse and exquisite preparations of traditional Japanese cuisine.
This festival has the support of international cooperation, through the Japan embassy and other district entities such as the Gilberto Álzate Avendaño Foundation, (Fuga), Idartes, Ministry of Culture; There are also contributions from private sector companies such as Vanti, through their gastronomy program to move forward. In addition, it will be marketed in a container so that it can be taken home and can be reusable to contribute to the minimization of the environmental impact generated by single -use plastics.
