The president of the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela, Nicolás Maduro, arrived at the Russian Federation to participate in the celebrations of the 80th anniversary of the Soviet triumph over Nazi Germany. In his speech, Maduro emphasized the importance of this commemoration, noting that it represents a moment of great sensitivity and historical awareness for his country and for the world.
“We come to bring the strong and solidarity greeting of the Venezuelan people, from the spiritual force of Simón Bolívar and our Commander Chávez. We come to commemorate with great sensitivity and historical awareness the 80 years of the victory of the Great Patria War,” said the Venezuelan president during his arrival.
Maduro recalled the event on April 30, where Berlin took, and stressed that his visit to Russia aims to honor the surrender of the German Nazi criminal army before the Red Army. This historical act is considered by Maduro as a victory not only for Russia, but for all humanity.
The Venezuelan president also expressed that his presence in Russia is a reaffirmation of commitment to peace between both nations. “Our presence here is a ratification that the path of humanity has to be that of peace, understanding and respect for the equality of states,” he added. In addition, he called to remember the fight against Nazifascism, considering him a confrontation against a criminal threat that sought to destroy fundamental values.
Finally, in a message addressed to Russian President Vladimir Putin, Maduro said: “Here is Venezuela always firm,” thus reaffirming the alliance between the two countries in times of global challenges. This visit is not only a tribute to history, but also a declaration of commitment to a future based on principles of peace and international cooperation.
