Within the framework of the commemoration of the “International day of the Forest fire Combatter”, which is celebrated every May 4 in coincidence with the day of San Florián, its patron saint; The Chubut Government recognized the brigadistas of the province for their work and actions deployed during forest fires that occurred this summer in different parts of the territory.
On behalf of the management of Governor Ignacio “Nacho” Torres; The Undersecretary of Citizen Protection, Eduardo Pérez, under the Ministry of Security and Justice, participated in acts carried out in Epuyén and in the Trevelin base together with local authorities.
In the ceremonies there were recognition for the work carried out during the forest fires that affected, highlighting the professionalism of the brigades.
In Epuyén, in an event organized by the local municipality, Undersecretary Eduardo Pérez together with the Secretary of Forests of the Provincial Government, Héctor Abel Nievas, and Mayor José Contreras delivered plates and awards to the local brigades.
While in the act carried out in Trevelin, the Undersecretary of Citizen Protection, highlighted “the tireless work of all of them who from the first combat line, risk their lives to protect forests, the communities and each Chubutense.”
Likewise, the beginning of an intensive training related to the “Local Strengthening Course – Simulation Exercise” was anticipated in the hole, having as recipients the virtual workshop of the local strengthening program: National Brigade Sur SNMF – Patagonian Region.
Those responsible for the activity are members of the Federal Emergency Agency (AFE), under the Ministry of National Security, aiming to strengthen the work articulated with civil organizations, municipal institutions and fire brigades to combat the magnitude claims.
