The deployment of the security forces is part of a set of measures adopted by the Government to face the growing wave of crime in the province of Pataz, after the murder of 13 mining workers. In addition to the intervention of the armed forces, the government has decided to maintain the Emergency state in the area for 30 dayswhat the authorities expect to grant control of the security forces on the internal order.

In response to the situation, the unified command led by the Carlos Rabanal Division General It has been constituted with the objective of guaranteeing security and order in the region. This command is based on both the Armed Forces and the National Police, in order to counteract the illegal activities that have been affecting the region.

Among the measures adopted, mandatory social immobilization has been arranged (curfew) in the locations of Pataz, Parcoy y Tayabambafrom 6:00 p.m. to 6:00 a.m., in order to reduce the criminal activity overnight.
