ZACATECAS, ZAC After 11 days, the fire recorded in the Sierra de Tepechitlán and Tlaltenango presents, until tonight, 95 percent liquidation.
The State Civil Protection Coordinator, Jorge Gallardo, reported that, according to the latest report of the National Forestry commission (Conafor), the fire was 100 percent controlled.
He added that personnel of the National Forestry Commission (CONAFOR) will remain in the area, until tomorrow Wednesday, in order to verify the situation to be able to perform a more precise evaluation of the damaged surface, which can vary, then, despite the presence of the fire, not the entire area was affected.
According to information from said commission, during Wednesday, April 9, the MI-17 helicopter will carry out other recognition overflows, as part of the conclusion of the works.
During the actions that were undertaken from March 29, when the fire began in the Chinese hill area, more than 300 people from Zacatecas, Aguascalientes, Jalisco, Conafor, Mexican Army, National Guard and State Civil Protection and municipalities participated.
