Before May 1st – around 3,200 people in feminist demonstration – politics

Berlin (dpa/bb) – The queer feminist demonstration entitled “Take Back the Night” with around 3,200 people in Berlin has ended prematurely. This was announced by the police on X. Shortly before, a police spokesman had said that objects had been thrown on the police officers, including an egg and a plastic bottle. Pyrotechnics were also ignited.

At first there were no arrests. In the past few years the mood has been aggressive and there were also bottle throws towards the police. The demo was dissolved on Boxhagener Platz in Friedrichshain.

Solidarity with all forms of resistance

Queer feminism describes a current of feminism, which assumes that gender is not biologically predetermined and innate, but is socially incorporated and shaped.

The left -wing demonstrators solidarize themselves with all the struggles of oppressed people worldwide and all forms of resistance, as the demo call is called. The event was also directed against German arms deliveries and criticized the use of propalestinian demonstrators. The demonstration train started at 9:45 p.m. on Mariannenplatz.

According to the police, around 2,500 emergency services will look after several meetings and events in the city on the Walpurgis Night from April 30 to May 1st.
