PATAZ: Mininter has urgent sending elite equipment to locate and capture those responsible for the massacre to 13 miners

The Ministry of Interior through a statement reported the sending of elite teams to fight crime in Pataz, in the La Libertad region.

This in response to the massacre of 13 miners by allegedly illegal miners, which has generated the greatest rejection of Peruvians.

“The immediate deployment of elite teams of the Special Group against Organized Crime has been arranged, as well as the specialized divisions of kidnapping and extortion investigation, and homicide investigation of the Dirincri PNP,” says the document.

The objective of this shipment announced by the Ministry led by its owner, Julio Díaz Zulueta, is to locate and capture those responsible for these execrable crimes.

Similarly, the Ministry indicates that they are working closely with the Armed Forces to deal with crime.

It should be noted that Pataz, in the La Libertad region, has been in a of emergency since February 2024, but despite this measure, the authorities could not advise a hard blow to the organized bands that frighten the population and those who carry out formal mining activities in this mining and agricultural region.

“From the Interior Ministry, we express our deepest for these irreparable losses and reaffirm our firm decision to eradicate this criminal scourge,” says the Minister’s statement.

“Our elite agents are fully empowered to use their firearms if circumstances merit it, in strict compliance with the current legal framework,” they said.

However, it is a late and reactive response to an emergency situation that could be avoided because the existence of the kidnapping of the 13 mining workers was known from days before.
