Inter Milan Counting On “Fortress San Siro” Vs Barcelona – 15 Matches Unbeaten In Champions League
As the Gazzetta notes, the San Siro has been a big factor for Inter Milan in the Champions League in recent seasons.
The last time that the Nerazzurri lost in front of their fans in Europe was in 2022.
In the group stage opener for the 2022-23 season, Inter fell to a 0-2 defeat at the hands of Bayern Munich.
Since then, Inter Milan have played at the San Siro fifteen times in the Champions League.
And twelve of those matches have resulted in wins for the Nerazzurri. The other three have been draws.
There was a 3-3 draw against Benfica in a quarterfinal second leg in 2023. Inter made it to the semifinals with the result, winning 5-3 on aggregate.
Then, Inter played out a goalless draw against Real Sociedad in the final match of the 2023-24 group stage. That saw the Spanish side top the group.
Most recently, Inter drew 2-2 with Bayern Munich at the San Siro. That was just last month.
And that was a draw that was as good as a win for Inter, as they had won the first leg.
