Bloomberg – The Administration Trump is declaring Harvard university Inelegable for new federal government research grants, at the last escalation between the White House and the Ivy League school.
The Secretary of Education, Linda McMahon, will send a letter to the University warning that additional federal access will not be possible until “they demonstrate responsible management,” according to an administration official who advanced the measure under condition of anonymity.

Harvard would have to establish a negotiation with the administration to resume eligibility, the official added. The official said the measure could affect more than US $ 1 billion annuallyalthough the administration did not immediately detailed the figure.
Harvard has been repeatedly criticized by President Donald Trump and his conservative allies, who accuse her of other elite universities of ideological bias. The administration believes that the school has not monitored anti -Semitism, has encouraged the use of racial preferences on campus, has abandoned academic rigor and has become “monolithically leftist,” said the administration official.
The measure is the last adjustment of accounts in a confrontation between the administration and the university that has opened a public debate on academic freedom and the supervision of the campus.
Harvard moved to demand to the administration after the government in April sent to the university a series of policy changes that he wanted to implement for “Maintain Harvard’s financial relationship with the federal government. ” That included eliminating diversity and inclusion programs and reforming admission processes.
Last week, Trump said in a message on social networks that Harvard University would lose its tax exemption status, although officials of the Internal Revenue Service, the White House and the Treasury Department declined to confirm that this change had really occurred.
