Israel’s forces issued an unprecedented evacuation alert for Yemen International Airport in Saná.
This is the first time that the Israel Defense Forces (FDI) issue an evacuation alert in Yemen, more than 1,600 kilometers from Israel.
“Do not evacuate the area endangers their lives,” said Avichay Adraee, spokesman for FDI in Arabic, on social networks.
The alert occurs a day after Israel carried out a series of attacks against the port of Hodeidah, in Yemen, and against a nearby cement factory. The Ministry of Health, controlled by the Hutis, reported that at least one person died and another 35 were injured in the Israeli attack against the factory in Bajil, to the east of Hodeidah.
The FDI attacks occurred after an Hutí ballistic missile penetrated Israel’s aerial defenses and reached Tel Aviv International Airport on Sunday. Several attempts to intercept the missile failed, according to the IDF.
Israel attacked the Saná International Airport last December, in an attack that caused the death of at least three people and wounding another 30, according to the Al-Masirah satellite television network, directed by the Hutis.
