The Ministry of Sustainable Development (SDS) reported that at 20:30 Wednesday, two forest fires are kept active in the state of Morelos.
The first is located in the area of Los Corrales, municipality of Huitzilac, with a 90 percent control and 70 percent liquidation, affecting an estimated area of 35 hectares. The second is located in Las Tecanoas, municipality of Tlalnepantla, where 100 percent control and 80 percent settlement has been achieved, with a similar affectation of 35 hectares.
Additionally, it was announced that the fire registered in La Cañada was completely extinguished, in the municipality of Tetela del Volcán, where the hundred percent control and liquidation was reached. This incident affected an approximate area of 20 hectares.
Brigadistas of the Ministry of Sustainable Development (SDS), the National Forestry Commission (CONAFOR), the National Commission of Natural Protected Areas (CONANP), the State Coordination of Civil Protection Morelos (CEPCM), the Secretariat of National Defense (Defense), the National Guard (GN), municipal authorities, communal goods and groups of volunteers and volunteers.
It is important to note that, so far, none of the fires represents risk for nearby homes. However, constant surveillance is maintained in the affected areas, in order to prevent any eventuality that could arise.
The SDS urged the population to avoid risk practices, collaborate in the prevention of forest fires and immediately report any column of smoke or suspicious activity to the number 800-737-0000 or 911.
