The governor of Neuquén, Rolando Figueroa, ratified from Houston his decision to strengthen the role of the provincial and oil provincial oil company of the Neuquén (GYP) in the key projects for the development of oil and gas in the Neuquina basin.
He did it during his participation in the offshore Technology Conference (OTC), where he said he will seek to “include GYP in everything we can” to achieve the goal of duplicating hydrocarbon production to 2030.
Figueroa stressed that GYP entered as a shareholder in the megaproject Vaca Muerta Sur (Vmos), an initiative led by YPF with Pae, Pampa Energía, Pluspetrol, Vista, Chevron and Shell, which seeks to evacuate production towards Punta Colorada, in Río Negro.
“We are entering something new. While it is a small participation, it is a step forward in the Midstream that makes us very happy,” said the president.
Thanks to this 1% participation in VMOS, the Neuquina company can ensure an evacuation capacity of 5,000 barrels per day of oil for export. In return, you must make investments as well as the other partner companies.
