Jalisco.- From the afternoon of Wednesday, May 7, brigades from different corporations joined in support of the Municipal Civil Protection Unit of Mascota, Jalisco, to attend a forest fire recorded in the place known as Roca Venados.
The priority attention focused on preventing the fire from reaching the local landfill, a hotel complex and surrounding homes. At 6:00 p.m. on that same day, authorities confirmed that no damage to infrastructure was recorded.
During the first operational period – from 2:00 p.m. on May 7 at 06:00 on May 8 – the efforts focused on containing the fire and protecting the structures at risk. The work included the installation of a command post, the deployment of resources, infrastructure and logistics coordination review.
Today, combat work continues with the integration of the Witari helicopter, which joined aerial actions this Thursday.
The current operational deployment consists of:
116 forest fighters from various corporations
11 staff elements
18 land vehicles
1 helicopter
The authorities urge the population to remain informed through official channels and avoid approaching the incident zone not to hinder the work.
