A collaborative study conducted by the NASA and the University of Tojo of Japan have used sophisticated supercomputers to model the habitability of the Tierra during the next billion years. The study presents a complete chronology that projects the eventual disappearance of life on earth.
This process will be driven by constant, but irreversible environmental changes, such as the increase in solar temperature, which will accelerate climate change and modify atmospheric conditions.

Research identifies the gradual and persistent change of the environment of the Earth, which eventually makes it uninhabitable, with immense effects on ecosystems and the persistence of life, much more than the current climate crisis induced by humans.
The study indicates that the person responsible for the possible disappearance of the Earth is the Sun. In the next billion years, the Sun will increasingly increase its energy. This expansion of the solar force is a normal component of its life cycle and, although it sustains life on Earth, its additional heat will end up overcoming the planet’s ability to maintain the conducive conditions for life.
As the solar radiation intensifies, the earth’s surface will increase more and more, raising temperatures to levels that could even support the most resilient life forms. Scientists project that life on Earth will be unsustainable for the year 1,000,002,021, when the planet presents such extreme conditions that it can no longer house any type of organism.
According to the study, the most radical impact of the increase in solar radiation would be the decrease in oxygen content, so terrestrial ecosystems will be affected to retain the C02 and produce oxygen.
Also, scientists also explained that we are already witnessing the first symptoms of this future event and that some examples are solar storms and coronal mass ejections.
