The La Calera site extended the gas processing capacity of the CPF plant by 20%, which reaches 14.5 million cubic meters per day, which must be added the 4,800 meters of condensate daily that are also treated there, with the aim of satisfying the demand in the winter period. In this way, the calera is positioned as the third gas producer of Muerta Vaca.
The governor of the province of Neuquén, Rolando Figueroa, visited the works at the facilities of the La Calera plant, next to the CEO of Pluspetrol, Claudio de Diego, and the president of YPF, Horacio Marín. After touring the expansion works, the president stressed that the increase in gas production promotes the sustainable development of the province and contributes to the generation of currencies.
During the tour of the La Calera plant, in which the Minister of Economy, Production and Industry, Guillermo Koenig, and the Country Manager of Pluspetrol in Argentina, Julián Escuder, the president Neuquino, highlighted the joint work between the companies and said: “We can enhance the entire sector in a responsible manner, generating employment and local development”. Figueroa considered that team collaboration will allow to position Muerta Vaca among the main deposits of the world and compete globally.
For Escuder, this extension “is the result of the long -term vision that Pluspetrol has and a sample of the commitment to the province of Neuquén and the development of Argentine energy policy.” Besides, He highlighted the work together with YPF to create value, “convinced that it is possible to articulate the activity of natural resources in a positive, sustainable and efficient way.”
Horacio Marín stressed that both companies have the objective of transforming the country “into an energy exporter” and stressed that Calera It has the peculiarity of being in a privileged position “in the largest unconventional rich gas area in the country”, as is Muerta Vaca.
